I have to admit that the Wikis for community and city info was really cool. I think the Library could use it for posting events and keeping track of upcoming events city wide. I think it would be a good resource for patrons as far as maybe locations, dates, addresses, and phone numbers of city or state programs.
Wikis, so I don't know what I think about them. I can see where it could be fun to track a certain subject or participate in a thought. I think it could be helpful to patrons if our catalouge was connected to reviews on books or dvd's. I also think it would be helpful to have a wiki for instructional puposes, but then you would'nt really know if they were accurate. I don't really think I would trust the info.

Web 2.0

I love the idea of a School Library Commons for students of every age. What a great opportunity for all students to learn about their school Library and the Public Library. The library is a vital roll in learning and research for all students, whether in school or not, and Web 2.0 is a great tool for this. I like the whole idea of how much information is available at any time. The interaction of people to people is a great comfort if you need answers quickly, but this in no way takes the value out of web 2.0.

I can see how someone could get completely lost for hours on Technotori. I put in the search word gardening and found myself looking under the tag words ( like plants, flowers, etc.) I understand the use of tags and how they make it easier to find more information. Just about any word you wanted to search would lead you in a bunch of different directions.
